CHAOYANG factory racing support on its way to Sweden.
In the European Championship, the factory racing supported the Austrian National Team to get the best they can.
In the mens XCE category, there were the World Champion Daniel Federspiel (Aut) and European Champion Jeroen van Eck (Ned) battling with 2014 World Champions (and World Cup overall winner) Fabrice Mels (Fra). Heiko Hog (GER) also joint them, the 22 years old silver medalist from EuroMTN 2015 had several wins in European competitions.
The XCE-track was carefully designed to be both spectacular and fair to the riders. It included two small climbs and two tricky downhills, the second downhill part consisted of three different line choices. If you were brave and skilled you took the middle line, it was short and steep with a jump in the bottom. If you prefered a fast line with switchbacks and a drop at the end you should go for the left line. Finally the last choice included a slow entering and then a straight downhill towards the finish straight.

World Champion Daniel Federspiel from Austrian National Team was preparing for his race in XCE category.

The start of the eliminator course was long, wide and straight, this made it perfect for gaining a strategic position before entering the first right bend. Falcon 29x2.21 Daniel used on his bike, never lost grip!

Steep downhill was always a challenge to the tires. It was proved that our racing edition Falcon 29x2.1 could suffer such extreme situation!

The finish straight offered great possibilities for a strong finisher to pass his opponents. Also the most magical part of XCE.

Silver Medal for our Chaoyang Pro rider Daniel Federspiel at the European Championship in a fotofinish race!! The work on the products pay off and the Chaoyang Team is proud to be part of this great job! Thanks Feder!
XCE = Cross Country Eliminator (sometimes refered to as Sprint). It is defiantly the most intense discipline during the upcoming Championships. The XCE consists of individual time trials and on a track that is 500-1000 meters long with an ”audience friendly” build-up. Then the elimination starts, with four riders per heat where the top two move into the next stage.
